SAILING WITH THE WATER-ELEVATOR

From the Gonzaga Court to San Benedetto Po.

SACCHETTA -> MANTUA
SAN BENEDETTO PO -> MANTUA

You will board in San Benedetto Po or in Sacchetta, subsidence with the Governolo's Pound Lock, there where Attila the Hun was defeated by Pope Leo the Great.
In front of Andes, in the valley, nature triumphs: wide, floating spreads of Nelumbium, the lotus flowers and of Trapa Natans, the water chestnut which is boiled and eaten in Autumn. Herons fly high up into the sky with night-herons, kingfishers and stilt-birds.
The Court of the Gonzaga, a touching sight, like Venice, emerges from the waters with the castle, the towers, the palaces and the basilicas.
