THE WATER MACHINES
Special program (with a guide)

Three thousands of years in history tell us about the solemn love match between Mantuans and waters.
A tale of war and history. Starring: first of all the plebeian of Gubernole. Attila the Hun, and Pope Saint Leo the Great, Matilda of Tuscany and Henry IV, Dante, Giovanni dalla Bande Nere, Mameli, Nino Bixio.
Everything in Governolo tastes like history mixed with the creative technology and engineering science: Leonardo da Vinci and Alberto Pitentino, the Bertazzolo. The water machines 1000 years ago used to sustain, as they do today, the waters of Mincio.

THE PLAN:
10.00 am - Guided visit in Mantua's old Town.
1.00 pm - We leave Mantua and enter into the Valley where the home village of Publius Virgil Maro, Andes, indulges among water lilies following the river we can reach the mouth of the river Mincio. To accede in Po river, the ship will enter in a pound lock. The ship will wharf on the left side of the Po.
3.30 pm - By bus to Governolo (1 mile far)
4.30 pm - Guided visit to the Water Machines. A didactic operator will guide you in the ancient Governolo town, in the old river bed and inside the historical "pound lock" by Messer Alberto Pitentino (1198).
