FROM VIRGILIO TO DANTE
MANTUA > RAVENNA (2 days long)

Mantova, the city of Virgilio and Ravenna holding Dante Alighieri. Extraordinary testimony of art and history.

1st DAY

9.30am - Arrival by coach to Mantua. Visit of the Duke’s palace (or Palazzo Te) and at the old town, with the thirteenth century statue of Virgil.
1.00pm - Embarking on the Andes. Along the river till Governolo. The water elevator. Free lunch in navigation.
3.30pm - Landing in Sacchetta. By coach to Ravenna. Accommodation in the hotel. Dinner.
9.00pm - Ravenna by night: a route in the city. Return in hotel. Overnight stay.

2nd DAY

Breakfast in hotel.
Visit of the city: the Basilica, the sepulchre, the baptistery, the churches, the sepulchre of Dante, the triumph of the mosaics.
Free lunch.
The technique of the mosaic. Assisted by teachers, the students will be told to make a mosaic and bring it home.
Return by coach.
