MANTUA AND VERONA, "ROMEO AND GIULIETTA" TOWNS
MANTUA > VERONA (2 days long)

Wiliam Shakespeare, “Romeo and Giulietta”, act 5th, 1st scene: banned from Verona for the murder of Tebaldo, Romeo galoppes to Mantua, where he knows that Giulietta is dead. He goes to “a grocer, in a street of Mantua” to buy for himself “a once of poison…”.
In the ancient districts of the Swan (today street Giovanni Chiassi), an ancient plaque still again reads “the street of the Speziali (the grocers)”.

From the Po to the Mincio, to the lakes of Mantua and later Verona.
Two days in two extraordinary cities, where the history and the fantasy get together in love.

1st DAY

10.00am - Departure in Sacchetta, navigation of the Po and the Mincio.
12.30am - Arrival in Mantua. Accommodation in hotel. Free lunch
2.30pm - The Reggia of Gonzaga, extraordinary Po-valley-Versailles and the old town of the Matilde’ s city, the Gonzaga’s and Maria Theresa of Austria’s. (guided visit)
7.00pm - Return in hotel. Bed and breakfast.

2nd DAY

8.00am - After breakfast, transfer by coach to Verona.
10.00am - Verona, the Roman city of the Arena and of the The noble family of the Scaliger. Public squares, churches, monuments of the old town, the charm of the Adige. (guided visit)
1.00pm - Free lunch. Return by coach.
